NBA veteran Jason Collins made national headlines when he came out of the closet in the May 6 issue of Sports Illustrated. As the first openly gay athlete in a major men’s sport, Collins has been receiving major media attention and his former fiancé has decided to get in on the spotlight.
According to reports, former WNBA star Carolyn Moos has decided to tell her side to the story in book form, detailing her experiences with her now-openly gay ex-boyfriend.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Moos said she had no idea Collins was attracted to men, but he did let her know a couple of days before he went public.
“It’s very emotional for me as a woman to have invested [eight] years in my dream to have a husband, soul mate, and best friend in him. So this is all hard to understand,” she said. ”I care about [Jason] tremendously and only want the best for him. I want Jason to be happy for a lifetime and stay true to who he really is, inside and out.”
The Washington Wizards player told ABC “calling off the wedding was obviously a tough decision.”
“But it was the right one because I knew I wasn’t getting married for the right reasons,” he said.
As of now, there’s no detail on when the memoir will be released or which publishing house she landed the book deal with, but Moos did leave this message on her personal website:
“Carolyn will be writing a book as she reflects on her recent life events about her former fiancé. She welcomes submitted questions from the public about what they would like to hear more on given topics that were discuss at the surface level in the interviews. Send your questions to questions@carolynmoos.com and Carolyn will review all of them as she begins to write.”
We look forward to reading Moos’ truth in her upcoming project, but until then, take a look at 7 other tell-all books that we just couldn’t put down.
