Jimmy Kimmel invited President Obama on Jimmy Kimmel Live to participate in one of our favorite segments: Mean Tweets. This is where the celebrity talents literally read the meanest tweets about them. President Obama was such a good sport, as he read hilarious tweets like, “Obama’s hair is looking grayer these days. Can’t imagine why since he doesn’t seem to be one bit worried about all that’s going on.” and “A 30 rack of coors light is $23 now at Sun Stop. Thanks, Obama.”
Many celebrities are dragged through the mud on social media, but President Obama has got to be one of the most criticized public figures there is. We’re sure there were much meaner tweets sent to the president as the ones he read were mild, at best, but still hilarious.
President Obama’s visit wasn’t only for laughs, he sat and spoke with Kimmel about the tragic shooting of two Ferguson police officers as well.
“What had been happening in Ferguson was oppressive and objectionable and was worthy of protest,” Obama says. “But there was no excuse for criminal acts. Whoever fired those shots shouldn’t detract from the issue – they’re criminals. They need to be arrested. And then what we need to do is make sure that like-minded, good-spirited people on both sides – law enforcement who have a terrifically tough job and people who understandably don’t want to be stopped just because of their race – are able to work together to come up with some good answers.
“In the same way that you can’t generalize about police officers who do an extraordinarily tough job. . . you can’t generalize about protestors, who, it turns out, had some very legitimate grievances,” Obama continues. “If people of goodwill – which is the overwhelming majority of Americans – are working together, these are problems we can solve.”

14-year-old trans activist Jazz Jennings just inked a deal with TLC for a new reality show, All That Jazz, which will chronicle her transgender and teenage life–juggling her foray into high school while navigating how a transgender teen approaches dating and sleepovers all while avoiding male puberty. The show will feature 11 episodes of the young teen who’s been called the “New Face of Transgender Youth.”
Jennings has been seen on 20/20, The Rosie Show and she was named as one of the Most Influential Teens of 2014 by Time magazine. She was born as a male and throughout her young life, identified as a female. Jennings was diagnoses with gender identity disorder. She wrote a children’s book, I Am Jazz with Jessica Herthel about life as a trans teen.
“Jazz’s story is universal, yet unique, and we’re proud to partner with her family to share it with TLC’s audience,” TLC GM Nancy Daniels said. “Jazz may be known as an author and activist, but she’s first and foremost a teenage girl with a big, brave heart, living a remarkable life.”
Added Marjorie Kaplan, group president at TLC and Animal Planet: “We know that families come in all shapes and sizes, but at their core, they are all about love, acceptance, and support. Only TLC can tell this family’s story in way that celebrates and demystifies difference in an effort to help create a world without prejudice.”
What a beautiful way to shine light on younger kids who have gender identity issues. Jennings’ entire life and now her reality show can act as a beacon of light for those who feel “weird” or like they don’t belong. All That Jazz isn’t the first, nor last show of its kind. Reports claim MTV has Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word, a documentary about seven transgender youths, as well as scripted comedy Faking It, which features one of primetime’s first intersex characters.Â

We’re all watching Fox’s “Empire.” Every Wednesday night, the pop culture phenom brings in 14.7 million viewers and the total viewership keeps increasing for the 9th consecutive week. These are numbers that every network dreams about!
This week’s numbers were even more impressive than normal, as it was Daylight Saving Time, moving the clocks forward. According to reports, Daylight Saving typically decreases viewership because many people take advantage of extra evening sunlight by staying out later, missing live prime time TV.
There’s only gasp one “Empire” episode left. We’re glad it’s two hours long because we don’t want this to be over. We’re sure “Empire” is going to bring back even more viewers in the final episode. We’ll be watching!

Fox’s “black-ish” has been lighting up the small screen right along with “Empire,” which is probably why the season finale will be star-studded. Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mary J. Blige are going to be reuniting as guest stars in final episode, which will be set in 1920s Harlem Renaissance.
The show’s adorable twins–Jack & Diane are searching for their family history and they ask their grandfather, aka “Pops,” played by Laurence Fishburne and he gives them a story about his great-great grandfather, Drexler Johnson’s (played by “black-ish” star Anthony Anderson) feud with a ruthless gangster, Elroy Savoy. Diddy will be playing Savoy. Blige will play Mirabelle Calais, the club headliner. Mary recently showed up in a flashback on “Empire,” as a singer alongside Terrance Howard. Could she be gearing up for a heftier acting career?
