Similar to last week’s winners and losers, NYC is taking a W once again thanks to the uptown W.A.F.F.L.E crew. The dancers are known for giving New Yorkers a show on subway trains and with each video they post, thousands of views follow.
Ellen invited ten members of the W.A.F.F.L.E crew to her show in L.A. and the guys didn’t disappoint. They brought all the energetic steps and represented litefeet culture for the world stage.
In return for their services, Ellen had a little cash prize for the talented group — and when I say little, I mean by the thousands.
This week, Jenner pissed some people off once again when she wore her hair in a charred fro-ish-looking thing for Vogue magazine. Many people on Black Twitter cried cultural appropriation.
If that wasn’t enough of an L for Kendall, her oversized coat might have sealed the deal.
Kendall posted a pic of herself in a big puffy Aritzia jacket and people couldn’t help but notice her head looked abnormally small compared to the coat.
A week of Jenner losses turns into a week of entertainment for us.
Megyn Kelly
Ms. Kelly was another non-melanated figure who didn’t surprise with her insensitive actions.
Execs tried to soften Kelly up by moving the Fox News alumni to daytime television, but it was only a matter of time before she would put her foot in her mouth. The 47-year-old anchor has a history of racist statements and she demonstrated her sentiments once again when she made light of blackface on her showMegyn Kelly Today.
“But what is racist?” Kelly asked. “Because you do get in trouble if you are a White person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a Black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character.”
She also went on to defend Luann de Lesseps from Reall Housewives of New York, who darkened her skin and wore an afro to look like Diana Ross last Halloween.
Kelly immediately got backlash for her comments and she apologized, but it seemed to be too late. On Friday, NBC announced that they would be canceling Megyn Kelly Today. It’s not known if the cancelation was due to Megyn’s blackface comments, considering the fact that NBC is still in talks to work with her in the future, according to her lawyer.
But this serves as a lesson that, unfortunately, has to be told over and over again.
