Plies has taken legal action against several high-profile rappers, accusing them of copyright infringement related to his “Me & My Goons” beat.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, the lawsuit targets Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Cardi B, and Soulja Boy, alleging that they used this beat in their own songs. Specifically, the suit claims GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be” and its remix with Cardi B, as well as Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag,” improperly utilized Plies’ work.
In addition to the artists, several production and record companies are named, including Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Productions, Soulja Boy’s former label Collipark Productions, as well as Universal Music Group, Collective Music Group, and Interscope.
Plies is reportedly seeking damages, though the exact amount and further details of the case have not been disclosed. None of the named artists or companies have publicly responded to the lawsuit at this time.
