What is Spotify Wrapped?
If you’re a Spotify user, you’re probably already familiar with the hype around Spotify Wrapped.
Spotify Wrapped Launched in 2016, and is a viral marketing campaign that lets users revisit their most-played songs, artists, and genres of the year.
It’s become a massive cultural phenomenon, with millions of users sharing their results on social media and comparing their listening habits with friends. Wrapped typically includes:
- Your top artists, songs, and genres of the year
- Minutes listened and “cool” stats like your “music personality” (hello, “Indie Sleaze” or “Pop Head”)
- Global trends, showcasing the most popular songs, albums, and artists worldwide
What makes Wrapped so engaging is its social media-friendly format—think shareable slides and fun, quirky visuals.
And while Spotify Wrapped is technically available from November 30 through December 6, its timing is always consistent, making it a yearly event that everyone looks forward to.

What is Apple Music Replay?
Apple Music’s version of a year-end roundup is called Replay, and it’s been quietly gaining traction over the years. While it’s not quite as viral as Wrapped, Replay has its own charm, offering Apple Music users a more detailed and customizable way to look back at their listening habits.
The cool part? Apple Music Replay is available year-round! You can check in on your listening habits at any time, but the full experience for 2024 arrives in early December. The big news for this year? Apple has introduced some new features to make Replay even more personal and engaging. Here’s what’s new for 2024:
- Replay by Month: This year, Apple Music users can see what their top album, artist, or song was for each month of 2024.
- Top Listener Stats: You can now see if you’re in the Top 500 or Top 1000 listeners for your favorite artists or genres.
- Listening Streaks: Find out how many days in a row you’ve listened to music on the app—yep, it’s as addictive as it sounds!
- First Play Date: Ever wondered when you first hit “play” on a track that’s now your favorite? Apple Music now lets you find out exactly when you started listening to your top songs, albums, and artists.
