Is Gervonta Davis hanging up his boxing gloves for good?

The Baltimore native alluded to stepping away from the sport during a press conference for his WBA lightweight title defense against WBA super featherweight champion Roach.

“After next year, I’m out of it,” the 30-year-old said“Yeah, out of this sport. “I just want to be able to make money and stay out the way, that’s it,” Davis continued. “I want to be living without being seen.”

The announcement surprised many fans as Davis explained he’s not into the sport anymore. “S***’s trash,” Davis said. “This s*** is trash, garbage. Fed up. I’m fed up with the whole s***.”

“After next year, I’m out of it, out of the sport,” he declared. “I’ll probably be building my real estate portfolio.

“I’m just trying to separate myself from the limelight. I just want to be able to make money and stay out of the way; that’s it,” he said.

Tank is a three-division world champion and he is returning to Barclays Center for his upcoming fight against Lamont Roach.

He previously set the building’s record for the highest-grossing and most-attended boxing event and scored a highlight-reel KO of Rolando Romero in May 2022.

“The people’s energy here is amazing. I won my first championship here. I have more followers from New York than almost anywhere. New Yorkers come with great energy,” Tank added when asked about the fight.

Tickets for the event go on sale Thursday, December 5, beginning at 10 a.m. ET and will be available through ticketmaster.com.
