Raleigh – An early Tuesday (January 7th) morning fire devastated the House of Art on 306 E Hargett St in Downtown Raleigh.

According to a Raleigh Fire Department spokesperson, the fire Department was alerted to a fire near the corner of East Hargett Street and South Person Street. No one was hurt in the emergency.

The House of Art is a “Non-traditional museum featuring local artists, plus events, cocktails, music, and dancing.” For the Holiday season, the venue hosted the St. Nick’s Pop-Up Bar”

The business shared the news on their Instagram account, saying “House of Art isn’t just a venue—it’s a home for artists, musicians, and creatives of all kinds. It’s where ideas spark, connections are made, and memories are shared. It’s also the magical home of St. Nicks, Raleigh’s favorite Christmas pop-up.”

Right now, we’re leaning on faith and the strength of our community as we navigate what comes next. We’re working to rebuild and to support our amazing staff, many of whom depend on House of Art as their full-time livelihood.

This space has been a second home to so many, and the outpouring of love and support from our community has meant everything to us. If you’re able, we humbly ask for your help. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping us in your prayers, it all makes a difference.

Thank you for believing in what House of Art stands for. Together, we’ll bring it back to life.”
