As the federal sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs unfolds in Manhattan, a pivotal figure in the prosecution’s case is his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Cassie, who previously filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, accused him of coercing her into participating in “freak offs”—elaborate sex parties involving male sex workers, drugs, and filmed activities. The lawsuit was settled the day after it was filed. However, surveillance footage from a 2016 Los Angeles hotel incident, which reportedly shows Combs assaulting her, surfaced in May 2024, reigniting public attention and legal scrutiny. Legal experts assert that any non-disclosure agreement from the settlement would not prevent Cassie from testifying under subpoena in a criminal case.

Cassie’s cooperation with federal investigators has been confirmed. Sources indicate that she has been in contact with authorities for several weeks, potentially assisting in establishing probable cause for search warrants. Her testimony is anticipated to be a central element in the prosecution’s case, providing firsthand accounts that align with the broader allegations against Combs.

The trial, which began today with jury selection, is expected to last at least eight weeks. With Cassie Ventura’s testimony and the accompanying video evidence, the prosecution aims to present a compelling case against Combs, who faces charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The outcome of this trial could have significant implications for Combs’ future, both legally and professionally
