Afrobeats superstar Davido made a surprise stop at The Morning Hustle this week, and let’s just say — he did not come to play. While fans expected the usual promo run filled with laughs, vibes, and a few quick bars from his latest album, Davido gave us something completely unexpected: a full-blown karaoke moment, singing none other than Soulja Boy’s 2008 anthem “Turn My Swag On.”

The Nigerian hitmaker, known for chart-toppers like “Fall,” “If,” and “Unavailable,” had everyone in the studio — and fans online — in stitches and applause as he belted out the iconic track with full energy. When asked why he picked that particular song, Davido laughed and said, “Man, I had to do it for the A!”

And it all makes sense. Though he’s a global Afrobeats icon, Davido has deep roots in Atlanta. He was born in the U.S. and spent a good part of his life in the city, even attending Oakwood University in Alabama before fully diving into music. His time in Atlanta clearly left a mark — not just on his sound but also his swag.

The karaoke moment wasn’t just funny — it felt like a heartfelt nod to his American upbringing and the city that helped shape him. Soulja Boy, who’s also from the South, dominated the late 2000s with his infectious energy and DIY beats — something young Davido undoubtedly soaked in during his ATL years.

Of course, the rest of the interview was just as lively. Davido talked about the evolution of Afrobeats, fatherhood, and his upcoming tour, but it was that unexpected karaoke moment that stole the show.

Who knew the Afrobeats king had a hidden swag switch ready to flip?
