All five former Memphis police officers accused of murdering Tyre Nichols were each hit with four federal counts on top of their existing charges.

All five former Memphis police officers who've been charged with the death of Tyre Nichols have pleaded not guilty. They're expected to be back in court on May 1.

On January 7th in Memphis, Tennessee, a routine traffic stop turned deadly after Nichols was pulled over for reckless driving. After things took a turn for the worse, Nichols was beaten to the point of hospitalization. He died three days later.
